The Divine Designer

For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature–have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.  Romans 1:20

 

The heavens stage His glory, proclaiming to all the earth that He is.  All without speaking a single word.  The oceans roar and His power is revealed.  The mountains rise in majesty climbing to reach His throne.  The flowers turn their faces toward His sun and bow in worship at His rain.  His splendor is displayed in the flight of the hummingbird. His creativity shines in the butterfly emerging reborn.  I Am is in all, above all, over in.  Is all.

 

My Treasure

I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my daily bread.  Job 23:12

A leanness of soul comes with a fast from His Word.  Busyness.  Distractions. Procrastination.  Forgetfulness.  He waits for the hunger pangs to set in.  We seek to fill the empty spaces with all the delicacies that life offers.  He waits for the discontent to rise to the top.  We search frantically for the void to be filled.  Again and again we feed on meals that do not nourish wondering all the while, “What am I missing?”  He misses us, too.

Not Who Am I? But Whose Am I?

Oh, the depths of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!  How unsearchable His judgments and His paths beyond tracing out!  Romans 11:33

An identity crisis hits.  Wife.  Mother.  Daughter.  Sister.  Friend.  Photographer. Gardener.  Cook.  Critic.  Neighbor.  Judge and jury.  Who am I?  A resounding, “You are My beloved.”  And that is enough. 

 

Struggling, With All His Energy

To this end.  Maturity.  I labor.  Hard work.  Struggling.  Wrestling.  Warfare.  With all His energy.  His Omnipotence, not my strength.  Which so powerfully.  Dunamis.  Dynamic power.  Works in me.  In me.  Through me.  Around me.  For my good.  For His glory.  

To this end I labor, struggling with all His energy, which so powerfully works in me. Colossians 1:29

 

Holy

God calls His people to be separate to Him and for Him.  Holy.  Set apart.  Being separate. Hard.  Lonely.  Ultimately good.  Training and equipping.  Comfort is not His ultimate goal.  He has a better plan.  The best plan.  Control.  It’s all in His hands.  For His glory. Suffering.  Discontent.  Something is wrong.  Only He can make it right.  Tenderly. Sweetly.  Beautifully.  

Kindness

Gratitude for the Gift-giver not the gift.  Gratitude for the Creator not the created. Gratitude for the Source of all joy, peace, hope, love.  Envisioning the lavishness rained down in a continuous flood.  Grace poured into this broken vessel of clay.  How can any there be any response aside from kindness?  Oh, but for grace to love You more!

In the End

I know that my Redeemer lives and that in the end He will stand on the earth.  After my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God.  Job 19:25-26

Redeemer.  Advocate.  Champion.  In the now.  No circumstance.  No heartache.  No devastation.  Nothing can change Truth.  He lifts the weary one’s head and places it in His lap.  He fills the hungry one’s belly and soul.  He heals the broken one’s body.  He steers the lost one’s way.   He seeks the stray sheep, opens the eyes of the blind, makes the lame to walk and raises the dead.  Yet, if He did nothing else but save me, I would be utterly, hopelessly, helplessly in love with Him.

Delight

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.  Psalm 37:4

His Presence can never be eclipsed by anyone or anything.  His glory shines no matter the obstacle which interposes.  His brilliance, too resplendent for the naked eye. Enthroned in heaven.  Seated but always working.  The Son waiting.  Come quickly.

Practice the Truth

Truth.  A love that lasts forever.  A God Who will never give up on me.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, knowledge and a fountain of life.  Better a little with the fear of the Lord than riches with inner turmoil.  Creator of life.  Sustainer of life. Lover of the soul.  Kinsman-Redeemer.  Giver of all good gifts.  Healer of all hurts.  Close to the brokenhearted.  Ever present Help.  King of kings.  Lord of lords.  Spirit.  Savior.
