Present

Fear not.

Do not set into motion that which needs to remain still.

Quiet, be still.

Don’t overlook His face in the storm.

His miraculous feeding fresh in the minds, yet hearts remain cold.

Just the Beginning

That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raise him from the dead, you will be saved.  Romans 10:9

Lord.  Owner.  Boss.  Authority.  It’s so much more than fire insurance or a ticket to heaven.  Not all who say “Lord,” but he who does His will.  It’s all a matter of the heart.  He seeks true love from us.  He seeks to be our True Love.

Refuge

But let all who take refuge in You be glad; let them ever sing for joy.  Spread your protection over them, that those who love Your name may rejoice in You.                    Psalm 5:11 (NIV)

But you’ll welcome us with open arms when we run for cover to you.  Let the party last all night!  Stand guard over our celebration.  You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers, for decking us out in delight.    Psalm 5:11 (MSG)

Peace

Unresolved conflict.  The churning within that promotes seething.  The bile of bitterness welling up to choke off words.  The cancer that eats away the softness of the heart and leaves stone in its place.  Seek humility.  Seek the face of Grace.  When our own need of Him is seen, we suddenly look at others with more forgiving eyes.  How could I not forgive while He so readily forgives me?  This doesn’t make what the other person did right.  It makes me right with God.  Leave the judgment in the hands of the Divine Judge.

Fall

As the calendar advances and summer begins to fade, there is a sudden energy in the air.  New beginnings bring excitement and a little uncertainty.  New schools, new teachers, new friends, new schedule.  Routine.  It’s a beautiful thing.  Time to finally unpack the vacation suitcases.  The air becomes more crisp, less soggy.  The leaves begin their seasonal dance of starting to change into their brightly colored foliage.  The mornings have become brisk warming to pleasant.  The world magically blooms in pumpkin.
